The Broken Arrow Public Schools track & field program (Class 6A) is for boys and girls in 7-12 grade.
The high school program consists of 9-12 grades and the students will be enrolled in a sixth hour athletic class that meets at the high school track field during the school year. Practices will also be held after school. The track & field athletes will participate in varsity, junior varsity and 9th grade track meets and the competitive season for track starts in the second semester of the school year.
The middle school program consists of 7th through 8th graders. There are no tryouts for track. Middle school track is an after school program and they are bused from their home school to the Freshman Academy track after school. Practices begin at 3:15 p.m. and end around 4:30 p.m. Parents/guardians are required to pickup their athlete at 4:30 p.m. from the Freshman Academy track.
Students are not required to try out in order to participate in Track and Field.
Physicals (physical form) are mandatory. In order to tryout or participate in any athletic activity for any school year, the athlete must turn a current physical into the coach at the time of tryouts. Only physicals dated after May 1 of the current school year will be accepted for tryouts and will be valid through the end of the following school year.
