Broken Arrow Athletic Department

Basketball Program

The Broken Arrow Public Schools Basketball Program (class 6A) is for boys and girls in grades 8th through 12th and all athletes will be required to tryout each year for the various teams. There are a total of sixteen teams with normally no more than 15 players per team.

  • 8th grade- 3 teams (boys and girls.)
  • Freshman (9th grade) - 2 teams (boys and girls.)
  • Sophomore (10th grade) - 1 team (boys and girls)
  • Junior Varsity team
  • Varsity team

High School (9th - 12th grade) basketball tryouts are normally held annually in May. Students who make the high school team will attend a 6th hour class for this program.

The 8th grade basketball tryouts are also held in May. Those players who make the teams will be enrolled in a 6th hour athletics program for next year’s season.

Physicals (physical form) are mandatory. In order to tryout or participate in any athletic activity for any school year, the athlete must turn a current physical into the coach at the time of tryouts. Only physicals dated after May 1 of the current school year will be accepted for tryouts and will be valid through the end of the following school year.
