In 1975, the Tigettes started as a drill team and since then have become a dance team – performing kick, jazz and pom routines. The Tigettes perform at all football and basketball home games as well as at several community events. They are busy year around with summer camps, fall competitions and a national competition in January.
The Broken Arrow Public Schools Tigette program is for students in grades 8-12. To participate in this program, students must tryout. Tryouts occur in the spring, and this information will be posted under "Tryout/Camps Information”.
The Tigettes consist of a varsity, a junior varsity (JV), a freshman, and an eight grade team. Varsity Tigettes are enrolled in a sixth hour athletic class and will occasionally meet after school to prepare for upcoming events. The JV and freshman Tigettes will be enrolled in a first hour class as well as before school practices. The eighth grade Tigettes will meet after school three days a week from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Physicals (physical form) are mandatory. In order to tryout or participate in any athletic activity for any school year, the athlete must turn a current physical into the coach at the time of tryouts. Only physicals dated after May 1 of the current school year will be accepted for tryouts and will be valid through the end of the following school year.
