Leann Buneta - Graduated 1993, named to the All-Conference and the Oklahoma All-State softball teams. Accepted a scholarship to the University of West Florida where she had a stellar career.
Dr. Kristie Holman Vinson - Graduated in 2003, Kristie was All-Conference, All-State and the Wendy's High School Heisman nominee as a senior. Received a scholarship to the University of Arkansas where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science in mathematics.
Andy Wilkins - Graduated 2007, selected to Oklahoma All-State and Louisville Slugger HS All-American Baseball team. Attended the University of Arkansas before being drafted by the Chicago White Sox.
Tom Frohnapfel - Coach Frohnapfel gave 31 years to Broken Arrow as a teacher and wrestling coach. He was an assistant coach to six different head coaches and was on the staff of nine State Championship teams and five runner-up teams.
Wayne Bishop/Doug Quinn - For nearly 30 consecutive years Wayne and Doug covered Broken Arrow Athletics for the city’s hometown newspapers. Wayne was sports editor for the Scout and Ledger from 1987 until 1998 when he became managing editor. Doug was then named Ledger sport editor and retired in 2015.
Alvin Bailey - Graduated 2009, All-State Football and ranked among Top 30 Offensive Linemen in nation as a senior. Started 38 games for the Arkansas Razorbacks and named All-SEC. Played for Seattle Seahawks team that won Super Bowl XLVIII
Sean Gatewood - Graduated 1994, All-State Soccer and Co-Captain of team that reached state title game. Academic All-American at Oklahoma City University. Played professionally for the Oklahoma City Heat and Tulsa Roughnecks.
Jake Harriger - Graduated 1997, Heavyweight State Wrestling Champion and All-State Football player. Two-year all-conference and honorable mention All-American wrestler at Missouri State. Achieved a first-place ranking in the Reebok Cross Fit Games
Angela Parsons - Class of 2003, Lady Tiger soccer scoring leader three straight seasons. All-Conference four years, All-State and Gatorade All-American as a senior. Lettered four years at Missouri State where she was captain three years. Earned Magna Cum Laude honors for baccalaureate and master’s degrees
Blackie Gibson - Friend of BA Athletics. As a long-time Broken Arrow State Farm Insurance Agent, Blackie has been a gracious and consistent supporter of Broken Arrow athletics since moving to the community in 1963 whether as a member of the chain crew, serving as a volunteer football coach or generously contributing to special athletic promotions and events.
John Belt (1998) - Belt was the state tournament MVP on Broken Arrow’s only boys basketball state championship team in 1997. The following season, as a senior, he was named all-state and led the team in scoring and rebounding. He went on to play college basketball at NEO A&M and Eastern New Mexico University.
Pat Harper (1985) - Harper was an Oklahoma Coaches Association and Tulsa World all-state selection. He went on to become a three-year starter along the offensive line at the University of Tulsa. Harper will begin his 12th season as head football coach of the Berryhill Chiefs.
Matt Howe (1991) - Howe was an all-state soccer player at BA before going on to play at Oral Roberts University. Howe has coached at the high school and collegiate level, and is currently the Director of Player Development for TSC Hurricane.
Meaghan Oven (2007) - Oven was an OCA All-State Swim Team member in 2007. Upon graduating she held records in the 50-free and the 100-free that stood for more than 10 years. She was a three-time Frontier Conference Champion. Ohe went on to compete as a member of the University of Kansas rowing team.
Brandon Timm (2004) - Timm was the Northeastern Baseball Coaches Association Player of the Year, Metro Coaches Player of the Year, Louisville Slugger All-American and an Oklahoma All-Stater as a senior. He was drafted and signed by the Detroit Tigers out of high school.
1971 Cross Country OSSAA State Champions - The first athletic State Championship in the history of Broken Arrow Public Schools. Head Coach George Blevins and runners Ralph Myers, Tom Towry, Larry Lipford, Larry McDonald, Rick Sommers, Barre Kerr and Gene Beckwith won the boys Cross Country State Championship in 1971.
Archie Bradley (2011) - All Conference, All State baseball, Louisville Slugger All American, member of the AFLAC All American team. Elite 11 Quarterback signed with OU to play football and baseball. 2011 led Broken Arrow to a 36-2 season, State Championship and National Baseball Championship. Seventh pick in the 2011 MLB daft by the Arizona Diamondbacks, who he plays for today.
Darren Ogee (1990) - Four-year letter winner in golf, two-time State Championship qualifier, two-time Tulsa Would All Metro and All State as a senior. Scholarship to Oklahoma City University where he was a four-year letter winner and qualified for four National Championships. 12-year professional career, named Kansas Golf Professional of the Year.
Sarah Salazar (2007) - Four-year starter and four-time All-Conference player. All State as a senior, listed as a top 25 recruit and a Parade All-American in 2007. Signed scholarship to play women’s soccer at UCLA where she lettered as a freshman and made the College Cup Final Four. Transferred to the University of Kansas her sophomore year.
Zach Mills (2012) - Started four years in baseball playing second base and center field. Started on the 2011 State/National Championship baseball team and played on the State Runner up team in 2012. Started three years in football and, as a senior quarterback, took the team to the State Championship game. Played baseball at Cowley County College as outfielder. Graduated with honors from OSU in the spring of 2017 with a finance degree.
